2009 Fall Technical Conference Student Grants

The Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality is offering 5 grants to cover the cost of registration, meals (up to $50) and lodging for students who wish to attend the 53rd Annual Fall Technical Conference (FTC). Complete information regarding the grant can be found in the 2009 FTC Grant Announcement.

This year’s FTC will be held at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel,  October 8-9, 2009 in Indianapolis, IN.

Official website: TBA. The theme for this year’s conference is “Quality & Statistics: Accelerating to Higher Performance”. The conference is jointly sponsored by the Chemical and Process Industries Division and the Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and the Section of Physical and Engineering Sciences and the Section on Quality and Productivity of the American Statistical Association (ASA).

Short Courses will be offered at the conference. Short Course registration fees ($250 each) are in addition to the FTC registration fee, and are not included in the value of the FTC Student Grant.

Grants are available for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students of statistics and quality management. Travel costs are not covered. Recipients may be asked to serve as room monitors for a session at the Conference and will be required to write a brief article about their conference experience for the Statistics Division Newsletter.

Applicants should send a letter of interest together with a letter of recommendation from a major professor. Submissions should be sent by April 1 to:
